How to join and get verified
Last updated: July 2026
FastHands has not launched yet. This describes how it works at launch, so you know what you are signing up for. Join the waitlist to be first when we go live in LA.
FastHands is onboarding founding contractors in Los Angeles now. You apply, we verify you, and you can bid. There is no fee to join and no subscription.
What you will need
- Your CSLB license number, in the name it is registered under.
- Government ID, to confirm you are the person on the license.
- Proof of insurance.
- The trades and areas of LA you actually want work in.
How verification works
We check your license against the full CSLB state registry rather than taking the number on trust. We match on name and ZIP, not the number alone — this is deliberate, and it is what stops somebody bidding on your credential. If you have ever been underbid by an operator claiming a license that was not theirs, this is the check that ends it.
Licenses are re-checked over time, so a lapse drops you out until it is sorted. Keep yours active and this never affects you.
What holds an application up
- The name on the license not matching the name you applied with — this is the most common one, and it is usually a DBA or a business-name mismatch rather than anything sinister.
- A license that is expired, suspended, or inactive in the registry.
- A ZIP that does not line up with the registry record.
If something does not match, we will tell you what did not match rather than sending a blank rejection. Usually it is fixable.
What we do not do
We do not run criminal background checks. We verify license and identity. We are explicit about this with homeowners too — see how contractors are verified — so nobody is told you were screened for something you were not.
